Member Testimonials

Hi Diana

Thank you for an unforgettable cruise! It was a brilliant holiday. Great company, entertainment, superb views, great food and cheap cocktails, not to mention really efficient disembarkation. You put a lot of time and effort into this trip Diana and we all really appreciated it – thank you.

With best wishes
Michele

Dear Diana,
What a FABULOUS idea for New Year’s the cruise turned out to be! 3 days party time for adults complete with dancing, dining, drinking, playing and loads of laughter with the great group of people that were lucky enough to come along. The Athena experience was so relaxing it instantly removed decades from our faces and made us all cover models (as the NYE dinner photos prove!). Amazing!
What fun it all was so a big thank you for organising the best New Year’s ever.
Cheers
Linda

Hi Diana,
I had such a great time [Athena Cruise] as did everyone. It was a great way to see the New Year in and it gave us time to really make friends which was great.
Dale

Thank you for last night Diana. I had a great time.
Kaye

Diana, I want to complain about last night [Christmas Party] - it was too short! It was a top night & I really enjoyed it.
Mick

Lesley

Hi Diana

Thank you for Saturday. I enjoyed the evening very much although I do not think I will become a k d lang fan.

Neeta

Thanks Diana - was a great night - really enjoyed the concert [k d lang].

Lois

Hi Diana
That was very enjoyable last night [White Salt] - your events are gathering a reputation from what I hear said around the table! People seem to like being told what to do & being moved around frees everyone up I suspect. Good venues always help too.

Linda

Dearest Cleopatra,

Thank you so much for your wonderful creativeness in setting up last Saturday’s event at Rob’s.

I thought that it was a great theme, the food was plentiful and very yummy, the music, the dancing, was all so good.

It is no wonder that you remain one of my very most favourite P&F Ladies. You are awesome my dear friend.

Bob

Hi Diana

Hi Diana,

Thanks for a great night at John’s on Saturday. Frank certainly was a good choice for the entertainment , very easy to listen to across a broad range of music.

Everyone I spoke with was very impressed with the functions you have been holding and your Hostessing skills , particularly how you include the new faces and introduce them to others attending. Great stuff my friend – well done indeed.
Bob

Hi Diana and John just wanted to thank you both for fantastic party last night. Had a great time...haven't danced so much for a long time.
Suzie

Hi Diana,

Had a great night at the concert, and wish I was coming to the Mullaloo Tavern – love it there. Hope you all
have a good night and will catch up with you when I get back from my trip.

Tricia

Hello Diana, Jo and Robin,
It looks as if the members are being well entertained and having ample opportunity to mingle through the events you are arranging on their behalf. Happily these days I am committed to a wonderful, loving man and expecting not to be joining you again. Even though I didn’t meet my man through P& F I did very much enjoy the social aspect of the brilliantly organised and very enjoyable events and wish you all well in the future.

Regards

Christine

Hi Diana

Claudine

Diana
I woud like to thank you for the limo ride and meal at Chesters it was a great and memorable night.. Also a terrific Easter break at Yanchep it was what was needed. A good mix of fun and relaxing Graeme

Hi Diana
I just wanted to send you a note regarding the night out to Chester’s winery and limo ride, I have to say this night really sticks out to me as one of the most enjoyable nights I have had for a long time, the limo ride was enjoyed by all, what a great experience and topped off by great food and great company.

I really do hope you make this an annual event. I’m sure everyone who experienced this night would agree, so once again thanks for a brilliant night.

Regards John

Hi Diana,
Thanks for the wonderful event at Joondalup Resort, in one afternoon I experienced what life is all about, among other things, a good round of twilight golf followed by continental goodies to satisfy any discerning palate.
In front of me I had everything my mum used to prepare when I was younger, the olives, salami, mortadella, formaggie bruschetta, all blessed with fine wine and company.
We were the last to leave the area you chose so appropriately, with the pool and the sunset to watch over us.
Thanks Diana, you excelled yourself again....can't wait for the next one.

Mike

Hi Diana
Just wanted to say what a lovely evening that was [beach bbq]- the food was quite delicious (& so much!) Don’t know what you did to the chicken but it was so tender. I did appreciate the (unfortunately all too brief) respite from the heat as well.
Thank you!

Linda

Diana, the ball on New Year's Eve was one of the best nights I have ever had. You don't even have to ask me, book me in now for next year, it was terrific.
Stephen
Hi Susie and Diana

Look forward to seeing you at next P&F do.

Suzie

Diana, I wanted to thank you for the splendid evening last Friday at The Carine, you were terrific and most gracious.
I found myself at ease with the other members and I enjoyed chatting with them, I found them interesting and pleasant.

Three Night New Year Cruise aboard the Athena

Twenty six of us spent three superb nights aboard the International cruise ship Athena and it was the best way ever to bring in the New Year. We spent the days easily around the pool, walking the decks, sipping cocktails, eating, playing games and generally relaxing casually. The evenings we spent with fine dining in the ship's restaurant, drinking more cocktails, watching shows, dancing and how good it was to have so many people to dance with!

New Year's Eve was such a special celebration with most passengers out on the deck full of merriment to bring in the New Year. It was like the whole ship was buzzing and bouncing with energy and celebration and there was plentiful amounts of champagne, streamers and poppers for all of us. The best thing of all was that late at night (or early morning) it was a short stroll back to our cabins - no taxis, no walking, no problem!

This was the best trip ever, so many happy members, such a great ship and a fabulous time of year to spend with a group of single friends. We have all decided that what happened on the Athena stays on the Athena and if you want to find out, put this one in your calendar for next year.

Pre-dinner drinks and Delicious Dinner at Vincenzo's Greek Restaurant in Carine

What a lovely evening this was to enjoy just before Christmas. We had a fabulous night & sumptuous dinner at Vincenzo's Mediterranean Restaurant. The alfresco area was ours and what a nice spot it is on a summer's night. The dinner was delicious with 3 courses of plentiful & tasty treats. The stuffed mushrooms were the best ever and the mains were filling & yummy. Great company brought our evening together and it was a terrific way to spend a night before Christmas Day.

End of Year Celebration with our favourite singer Frank

What a top night this was, with so many P&F members out to celebrate the end of year. We had so much fun talking & dancing to the classic songs Frank played for us. it was so nice of Frank to play for us for longer because the dance floor was packed & we didn't want to stop the good times. P&F people sure know how to enjoy themselves, get into the party spirit and have a good time, which is fantastic.

Christmas Party On The Terrace in Claremont

Well over 100 members came out to celebrate a fabulous year with our combined Partners & Friends Christmas Party. With such a good crowd, some great live music to dance to and so many friends to catch up with, this was a really enjoyable evening out. Our Northern Region Christmas Party is this weekend and should be another top night out with more muisc & dancing & some fun and games.

Concetta's Cooking Class & Dinner Party

Concetta's Italian Cooking Class & Dinner Party
2011-12-03

Concetta was the perfect host and teacher for our afternoon
learning how to make arrancini, pickled chillis and canoli filled with the delicious flavours of ricotta, spices and chocolate. We all 'assisted' with the cooking lesson and preparation of dishes & afterwards shared a tasty and plentiful dinner together and sampled our creations - some of the arrancini shapes were very creative indeed.

Min 'n Mingle Evening with Band & Dancing Kingsley Hotel

Our music & dancing nights are always a top event with lots of our members coming out to have a relaxing, casual night out with friends. The Kingsley Hotel was a top venue, with really delicious tasting plates, a delightful alfresco area, some nice dancing music and of course us filling the dance floor.

Beach Volleyball Friendly & BBQ lunch at Floreat Beach

This was so much fun! There were so many funny moments as we tried to hit the ball and engage in some extended rallies (more than a serve). It took a lot with some star performances and great leaps and dives into the sand from some and some great serving and consistent play from others. It was a really fun and energetic game and just a lot of fun with a lot of laughs.

While we played our volleyball championships a delicious and tasty lunch was cooked by a very top chef who came along just
to treat us to the most scrumptious barbeque - all prepared exactly when our volleyball game finished. An intense game, some exercise, lots of laughs, a yummy lunch and all in a beautiful location at Floreat Beach.

Rockpool at Burswood for Drinks & Dinner

Rockpool Bar & Grill was a dining experience to experience. With the in-vogue way of cooking with an open kitchen, all was on show for guests to see the kitchen staff in motion while we sipped on some awesome cocktails in the bar before our dinner date.

It was such an extensive menu and with some delightful dishes, most guests enjoyed their dining experience. Rockpool was a night to remember - the cocktails, the dinner, the decor, the company ...

k d lang at Sandalford Winery with Picnic Dinner

This was such an amazing night. For a start it rained all the way to Sandalford and the whole time we were in the queue to get into Sandalford, then suddenly the rain stopped and it was a beautiful night with even some stars shining. What a great singer k d lang is, her voice sounds just like it does on a recording - just brilliant, and the Sandalford venue was just delightful. Everyone brought some yummy food to share and it was a wonderful evening of entertainment.

Casual After Work Drinks & Gourmet Pizzas at The Breakwater

What a great way to start the long weekend this was! Lots of P&F members turned up to have a drink, some really delicious gourmet pizzas that kept coming and coming and coming and some great conversation with friends. It's such a lovely venue at The Breakwater on the water onverlooking the harbour and boats. Starting a weekend on Thursday evening was really nice.

Favourite Aussie Comedian Wil Anderson Live at The Astor then Drinks at Clarences

Wow! Wil Anderson - what a top comedian he is! He is so funny, so clever, so witty, so observant of life he was hilarious. His Man vs Wil stand up show is just the best. He had the whole theatre laughing with his stories about going horse riding to impress his girlfriend and visiting a Starbucks coffee shop just to be looked at (you had to be there).

Wil is good on television but in real life he is even funnier. After the show we went to the Flying Scotsman for drinks, but it was very loud and busy, so we went to a delightful boutique bar called Clarences, which Peta showed us. Clarences was really nice and the drinks were a really nice price too (not). We were all driving though so we didn't drink much anyway. It was late when we decided to call it a night. Wil Anderson's style, humour and observations of life are really worth witnessing, he is one very clever comedian.

Speed Dating & Dinner at the all new Osborne Park Hotel

Punctual .... is NOT a word I would use when describing some P&F men! Our arrival time of 7pm so we could start speed dating at about 7.15pm was a bit delayed while we waited for some of our gorgeous men to arrive. Tonight it was the men holding up the ladies for a change. You were all so lovely when you did arrive though and you were worth waiting for!

Finally we started our P&F inaugural speed dating night. For those who got stuck for questions to ask (would a guy ever not know what to ask a girl?) there was an extensive list of questions to choose from to find out a little more about your speed date partners.

Thanks everyone who came along for the first ever speed date night, I have learnt a lot about holding one of these and next time it will be even bigger and better and with more tricky questions to choose from. Speed dating was a lot of fun and created lots of talking. Unfortunately we had to stop because we were hungry! We enjoyed a very yummy 3 course dinner at the Osborne Park Hotel with lots of new faces. Thanks Steve for taking the photos tonight, you helped lots and captured some great photos.

Jazz Music & Delectable Dinner Evening at Wild Fig in Waterman's Bay

A large P&F crowd with plenty of new members filled the alfresco dining area of the original 'Fig' tonight. It is legendary in the north and despite being here for many years is still one of the best places to eat on the coast. We had the most delicious dinner - 3 luxurious courses and coffee filled our tummies (and a little alcohol as well). I hope nobody got on the scales on Monday because there was so much food we all probably put on weight! Wild Fig (actually called Little Fig now) looks & is fantastic at night - the ambience, candles, lighting and vibe were really special and created a top spot for us to dine, mix 'n mingle and have a really good evening together with lots of chatter, laughter and fun.

The Larrikins served up some top jazz music (so the jazz specialists amongst us told me anyway), so we had it all tonight - great location, cool music, fantastic food, great company and wonderful service. We have so many fantastic, fun and out going members that every week we just have such a great time out. You are all such an enjoyable bunch of people to go out with and have such a positive 'vibe' about you that every week seems to be better than the last, if that is possible!

Clancy's Fish Pub in City Beach for Lunch

City Beach has a new and very interesting venue for dining. Clancy's Fish Pub is a new experience and a great location right on the waterfront at City Beach. Clancy's has a real beachy feel and the decor is really interesting, colourful and vibrant.

We had a great time today. We started with a midday beverage and followed up with a really delicious lunch chosen off a menu with plenty of yummy options. Some really lively and energetic members came along and made new members feel warm and welcome. We also learnt a few things we may not have known before! This was a great venue for lunch and something a bit different.

I forgot to take lots of photos so there are not many pics and everyone probably enjoyed a break from me always having my camera out anyway!

Psychic Dinner at Oakover Winery in Middle Swan

This was an evening we were all looking forward to. Some of us took a limousine from Hillarys and sipped chilled champagne on the way and other guests met us at the beautiful Oakover Winery for the psychic dinner. What would the psychics reveal about our futures! Would we be single for ever? Was the man or woman of our dreams just around the corner? Where would we meet them? What was going to happen with our families, our work, our careers, would we be rich, would we be famous...endless questions to be answered!

Some members of our group were even specifically targeted by mediums cruising the room and were taken aside for a special session in revelations of the future. One of us was told that she had a pharoah on her shoulder protecting her from danger and looking out for her, so now she has no more fears!

Mediums, tarot readers, palm readers, tea leaf readers, astrologers and reiki specialists were all here to guide us through the tricky waters of life. The reiki was particularly popular and those who were lucky enough to score a session with this specialist felt healed and relaxed afterwards.

It was a lot of fun and only time will tell just how right all those psychics were when the future for us unfolds....

Mix 'n Mingle With Music & Dancing at The Glengarry in Duncraig

A huge crowd turned up for another amazing night out. It was such a terrific evening of great conversation, meeting new members, catching up with familiar faces and of course listening to the fantastic band, 'Inside Cover', who entertained us with just the best dance music ever! We certainly enjoyed ourselves and made the most of the great opportunity to dance.

The 80's and the 90's featured mainly on 'Inside Cover's' happening play list, and what good choices they made! One after the other was a classic tune to groove to. Every time you tried to leave the dance floor for a break, there was another classic track starting. If you didn't get up and dance tonight it must have been because you had a sore leg or were grieving about the Eagles losing.

Everyone enjoyed some delicious Glengarry platters and they may not have been the most gourmet selection of canapes they have in some venues, but they were especially sumptuous, very delicious and so plentiful. In fact they were so enormous that it was difficult to lift the plates up and carry them around. Thanks to the members who offered to help with the platters and those who took some great photos tonight, I really appreciated your assistance.

I think we all enjoyed the evening, especially the music, and it was such fun on the dance floor and having so many people you know to dance with. We absolutely must revisit The Glengarry Hotel.

Famous White Salt in Sorrento for Drinks & Delicious Dinner

It is always a great night at White Salt. The quality of service, the great location and the terrific food is awesome. We met in the bar for pre-dinner drinks and were greeted with our own hostess to take our drink orders, which was really lovely and allowed us to mix 'n mingle more.

We were seated at really nice tables with views of the city lights right down the coast. Our 3 course dinner was so delicious. The starters of duck, pork, beef and White Salt's version of bruscetta with avocado, fetta and other goodies was just so tasty. This was just the beginning though because the encore was just the most divine barramundi ever (we had othe options, but nearly everyone went for the barra). We all thought it was just so delicious - tasty and perfectly cooked. It was served with plenty of crispy spuds, tomatoes and lots of very healthy and perfectly cooked greens, so if you missed out on your 2 fruit and 5 veg today, tonight you made up for it! Our dinner was not over yet though and the desserts of lemon & lime brulee or chocolate tart were divine and very generous portions indeed.

White Salt is a great venue and the P&F members who came along enjoyed a delicious and tasty dinner and great company. Several new members were here and as usual they were welcomed with open arms! The balance of ladies and guys was fairly even and thank you to the couple of people I rang to come along that helped this, I really appreciated it.

Lots of members left after dinner, as they had various early morning and Father's Day commitments, while some of us finished off our evening with an after dinner drink at The Breakwater.

Burn the Floor Dance Spectaular & Dinner in Subiaco

Wow! What a show this was! This was one of the most amazing shows I have ever seen. It was just so full of talent, energy & entertainment that it effervesced with enthusiasm & excitement. It was just so very good.

The night did not start out so well though, with us meeting in downtown Subi at 6.30 at Chutney Mary's and the Dockers were playing tonight as well. How were we to get there, how were we to find a park?? It got to about 6.50 and we were still missing 2 of our guys (who said the ladies are always late?). Next minute I received a message from Michael asking where we were meeting to eat dinner tonight! Now is that organisation or is that organisation? So while I was trying to call Michael from the busy and noisy Rockeby Road to let him know where we were, Dan turned up and then disappeared on me!. Finally we all sat down for a delicious Indian dinner (albeit a quick one) before Burn the Floor.

We had terrific seats right in the front and middle for perfect viewing. It was such a great show, one of those ones you want to go back to again. Stunning dancers, stunning performances and such a great variety of dance from waltz to salsa & modern.

After the show we met the cast and hung out with all the dancers and found out how it is for them dancing their way around the world. - apparently it is pretty good!

After the show some of our members called it a night & some of us went to The Village. It was a really nice way to finish off yet another fabulous P&F night out.

Luscious Lunch at Wild Fig Cafe in Waterman's Bay

What a splendid day this was. It was supposed to rain but the showers turned into a few droplets and the day was breezy, balmy & warm enough to dine in the lovely alfresco area overlooking the ocean of Wild Fig. We had about the same numbers of ladies and men today as well, so if you were wondering why Diana has not called you this weekend that is why!

Did we do lunch or did we do lunch? We arrived at 12 noon and were still there 4 hours later! Our lunch began with some drinks before our yummy meals of fish, lamb cutlets, chicken & prawns and more, served with salad and very tasty & crispy potatoes. There was ample food but the desserts just looked too good, so some of us indulged in their gooey sweetness (actually I think Mike indulged in 3!) We sat back and relaxed and watched Sunday slip away over coffees, chatter and P&F event ideas.

None of us wanted our delightful day to end, so when it was finally time to leave we went for a walk up the coast and did battle with a strong coastal breeze. There really was no need to do our hair today. A beautiful venue, a beautiful lunch and beautiful people made this day another memorable one. It was absolutely fantastic lunching with you all today and thank you for coming.

Ouzo Greek Taverna in Osborne Park

Firstly I would like to say thank you to all those lovely men who came along tonight to even the very uneven numbers up, you are true champions and we are very lucky to have you in P&F. One of the hardest things in organising our events is that sometimes the numbers of ladies or men is very uneven. You all know that I phone and text you (maybe even harrass you at times!) to get you to come along some nights to even the numbers up - sometimes it is the ladies and sometimes it is the men. When I do this there are so many lovely members who say things to me like, "Di, I wasn't going out tonight but if you need me to to even the numbers I will come along." You are such lovely people and I have endless appreciation for your kindness and attitude. P&F works best when the numbers of ladies and men is about even and I constantly value your assistance with this. You guys who came along were awesome and you made our night really wonderful because we had our own nice men to party with. That is the other thing - I have never met a group of men who will get up and join in the dancing and evening's entertainment like P&F men - you are amazing!

Now to Ouzo. How good is this place? Ouzo is booked out way in advance on weekends and no wonder, with the amazing party atmosphere this restaurant creates. Peter, the owner of Ouzo, won't let you not enjoy yourself. His motto is, "if you come in sad, you will leave happy!" Everyone in Ouzo left smiling tonight. We were extra lucky as well, with another very large group celebrating a birthday party and they were all dressed in Grecian robes! It was a true Bacchanalian feast (Bacchus was the Roman God of wine, wild parties and food, he was quite popular).

Ouzo is seriously great fun. The Greek food is yummy and you can eat as much as you like, trouble is you won't have time to eat because the real enjoyment of Ouzo is the endless and energetic partying, with the whole restaurant up dancing on tables, chairs, the bar and even a few dancing on the floor! Of course we did not hold back and embraced the evening full on, dancing everywhere we could.

What a party this was, what great members we have. We all thoroughly enjoyed the evening and will definitely have to come back to Ouzo and dress in our Grecian robes next time. Ladies love men in togas (mmmm) and us ladies will look gorgeous in our long flowing Greek dresses and adorned with traditional jewellery. Oh yehh!!!

Funky Fancy Dress Party in Gwelup

OMG! This was the best fancy dress party ever! So many members, so many great costumes, so much creativity. You guys were amazing & it made for such a fun night. The ladies put in lots of effort and we had Supergirl, Catwoman, pirates, Little Red Riding Hood, Cleopatra, Spiderwoman and even Marilyn Monroe made a dramatic appearance singing, "Happy birthday Mr President." The ladies' costumes were truly terrific, but even the boys (sometimes renowned for being a bit slack in the dress ups department) put it together and came up with some amazing outfits. We had The Hulk (acting the part so well), The Terminator (look out for his weapon), Captain America, Mr Suave (looking very sexy), Mexicans, The Mask, Marc Antony and lots more.

As much effort went into the food as the costumes, and we had the most delicious & amazing food tonight, with delectable fresh seafood, sushi, Vietnamese spring rolls, lamb cutlets, Moroccan chicken, prawn cutlets, goat's cheese, curry puffs and an assortment of other truly yummy tastes all served with the most delicious sauces and accompaniments.

Later on we cranked up the music, cleared the furniture and ended our wonderful party with some really enjoyable & energising dancing. Who would not want to dance with Catwoman or The Hulk? (btw they can both dance really well). This was an exciting and fun party made really special by members putting in the effort, getting into the swing of things and dressing up. Thanks Rob for everything you did for us tonight.

Drinks at Grand Boulevard and Perfect Asian Banquet at Kulcha

It was another wintery wet & windy night and Joondalup was no exception tonight. We all arrived with our umbrellas in hand and raincoats ready for the next instant downpour. We started our evening with drinks at Grand Boulevard hotel, which happened to have a 1980's glam rock night on with music by Bowie and others.

After our drinks we went to Kulcha, which has the best and most delicious Asian food in Perth. We enjoyed such an extensive and sumptuous selection for our banquet. Starters was a yummy selection of several really tasty treats and following this was the amazing mains - so much food, so many delectable taste sensations! Barbeque pork, curried veges, sizzling beef, honey chicken, seafood basket, fried rice and more! After this we had desserts and perfect coffees, as we wound down tonight and most of us managed to escape Kulcha between rainstorms. Either P&F members don't eat a lot or we go to places with lots of food, because this was like Bollywood - there was so much food left that lots of us had takeaways again.

Botanica Bar for Drinks and Indian Banquet at Bollywood in Innaloo

Tonight we met at Botanica's in Innaloo. It used to be the old Nookenburra and wow has it changed! Now it's a modern and stylish bar with a really delightful alfresco area, which was toasty warm with those winter heater thingys??

Bollywood has the best banquet around & I can't wait to go back there. We started with share platters of enormous samosas, tandoori fish (yum!), lamb and salad. This was only our starter and it was huge and so tasty. Luckily we saved some room for the most sumptuous and delicious dishes ever that followed. Butter chicken, prawn, lamb and beef curries, dahl & vegetable curry, salads, raitas, garlic naan and poppadums filled our table and we were hardly left with any room for our drinks. It was just such a tasty and delicious spread of dishes.

We had so much food that lots of us ended up with a takeaway for lunch on Sunday. The Bollywood banquet really is one of the best, so if you like Indian food, grab a group of your friends and book Bollywood.

After our delectable dishes, some of us returned to Botanica's and found a nice warm place in the alfresco area where we enjoyed great company and conversation. Another great P&F night out and if you missed this one to stay at home and watch Cadel Evans win the Tour de France, well I guess that's fair enough this time! Till next time guys ...

Winter Party The Breakwater Hotel - Hillarys Boat Harbour

This was such a lovely night out. The Breakwater is a stylish & modern bar and is such a nice venue to hang out in on a Friday evening. We had a really nice warm area reserved next to the fire with comfy chairs and a view across the water, but, strangely enough Friday evening it was not cold at all! Most of us ended up outside on the Breakwater's deck area by the water, which was really pleasant on a balmy winter's night.

With a large group and pretty much even numbers of P&F members who as usual were warm & friendly to new members - a bit like the evening - this was a fabulous night out. We also discussed future events and you guys have such exciting ideas and it is your club, so if you ever go anywhere fun or have great ideas please tell me so I can plan events you want to attend. I can't wait till the next calendar to enact Concetta's idea, it is going to be so much fun! You will just have to come to this one!

Unbelievably, I think I finally have a fool proof camera (after I got the flash working by setting it on kids & pets???) and have some really nice photos of the evening - so many I will even be changing them! Thanks P&F members for being such wonderful people and always being positive, friendly and energetic!

Buffet Breakfast Like No Other at The Pines, Hotel Rendezvous at Scarborough Beach

I now need to add 'brave' to the list of attributes of P & F members. I think this morning was the coldest morning I have ever felt in Perth, but even a freezing, bleak and cloudy day was not enough to keep so many members in bed. I think you guys might be good candidates to do the Everest Base Camp Trek with one day!

It was worth the effort coming this morning though, with a delicious spread of yummy breakfast foods to enjoy. The cold day made it quite challenging to head to the cold options and to really embrace freshly sliced fruits and yoghurt, so many of us skipped the usual healthy start and went straight to the steaming pots of hot options of eggs, sausages, mushies, beans, tomatoes and of course the most delicious of all - the crunchy, crisp hash browns that gave Maccas hash browns a run for their money.

But wait, there was more! After the hot breakfast we enjoyed croissants, muffins and danish pastries, coffee, tea and hot chocolates with great conversations, all with a terrific view of Scarborough Beach. Afterwards, some of us wandered through the art exhibition and sale at the hotel and briefly contemplated buying some paintings worth 1000's of dollars, before we decided that it was probably cheaper to go home quick.

We had a delish breakfast and despite the unbelievably cold day it was worth it to enjoy such lovely company and delicious food. If you haven't yet done a P&F breakfast, you should try one. They are a really nice way to start your Sunday.

Quiz Night at The Byrneleigh in Nedlands

Ahh quiz nights, you can feel so confident at the start of the questions and continue to feel this confidence, or you can start with that bad first round that makes it hard to recover. It is a bit like the footy tipping isn't it? Once you are at the top it is easier to stay there than come from behind without taking risks that usually don't work. I mean why would Fremantle win?

Well it wasn't like that tonight! P & F members are obviously so smart that all the teams were neck and neck until the very last round! Winning was so close for most tables, yet unfortunately so far away, and I have to say it was the table with mostly members from the Northern suburbs who took out the trophy for the P&F quiz champions for 2011. (Actually it was a bottle of champagne each and Graeme I owe you a bottle).

Dennis was the absolute best quiz master. How much does that guy know? If you ever want to win a quiz night invite Dennis to be on your table. He is even better than Google. Although I think we gave him a challenge with the question about which sports do you have to go backwards to go forwards? Come on Dennis, rugby league is definitely one of these! Dennis stayed cool under the pressure of running such a high stakes quiz night and I think he was surprised at how smart we are as a bunch. Maybe it is all the time that singles have to spend on their own so they actually read and research and are smarter than the average couple? A question to ponder at our next after event gathering guys - why are P&F members so damn smart?

Lots of members missed out tonight, as we were fully booked quite early. Remember to book in early for your favourite events so that you don't miss out.

Gourmet Seafood BBQ & Blues Band Blue Shaddy at the Indi Bar in Scarborough

Our nights out just keep getting better! I didn't think this could top some of our previous events but the Indi Bar went off tonight. We met in the bar and shared pre-dinner drinks with firstly some great rock background music to bring us together, followed by Blue Shaddy warming up.

Next we headed to our specially reserved and fabulously decorated (thank you Indi staff) room for our gourmet seafood barbeque of fish, squid and prawns. It was so delicious there was hardly enough to go around. Lots of vibrant conversations flowed over dinner and planning for the upcoming New Year cruise was a hot topic. It was really a great atmosphere, but we had to move back into the bar area for the headline act, Blue Shaddy. They were amazing! The music, energy and vibe they have are awesome and it was great to get down and dance to the rhythm or take a step back and talk with the band playing in the background. Blue Shaddy are the best band, the harmonica player was incredible and the whole act is rivotting, classy and stunning. We all enjoyed it so much. If you like music and haven't seen Blue Shaddy, do it!

Some of us had to work the next day, so it was time to go home, but others went on to Dale's for a gathering and you know what happens at our after parties ...

Soda Sunloounge Gourmet Tapas & Pizza Night

A large crowd of P&F members came out on this cold and rainy winter's night to the renowned Soda Sunlounge in North Beach. Soda is well known for the delicious tapas and pizzas that they organise for large groups, and tonight we feasted on the most delightful and flavoursome tapas you could want. Endless samples of delicious tastes filled our plates before some yummy pizzas arrived with that crunchy crust and toppings to stimulate those taste buds.

Our group was a highly energetic and enthusiastic bunch who came tonight to enjoy great food and awesome company. I love the way P&F members invite new members into the group and always come out to make the most of the occasion, that is why we have so many wonderful nights out and are always the last to leave. Tonight was fabulous, an entertaining mix of members and conversations to stimulate and think about long after the dinner is over...

Ten Pin Bowling and Scrumptious Lunch at Sovereign Arms in Joondalup

This was such a fun day out. We spent the morning on the bowling floor honing our skills. We were mostly amateurs with a couple of near professional bowlers amongst us. They won the awards for best bowlers on the day. Kerry and I were known as the gutter girls because our bowling balls spend more time in the gutter than on the lane. It does look much easier than it is to sink those pins. It was a really enjoyable game and we all had a lot of fun and got some exercise as well.

After the bowling we went to the Sovereign Arms where we had a lovely table outside in the winter sun. We enjoyed some champagne, wine and beer and the most delicious and awesome seafood and chicken platters ever. They were so yummy and so incredibly huge we couldn't finish them. This was a great day out full of activity, great conversation, food and friends. If you sat at home on the couch today feeling a bit bored, you should have come out with us for the day.

Legendary Song Night

What a brilliant night this was! Such an entertaining mix of members and with Frank playing and singing the sound track to our youth, with all the songs you want to hear from classic bands like Hunters & Collectors, Crowded House, Credence, Cold Play and Hoodoo Gurus. So many great songs were played tonight and it was a fabulous experience.

As we mixed and mingled into the night we ended with the best dance session to the best music ever, with Frank singing all our requests and playing late into the night so we could continue to dance to the music. It was brilliant and a night that will resonate with us for awhile. Thanks to the fabulous members who came out on a cold winter night and were ready to have the best night, you make our nights out so much fun! Thanks to Frank for playing so beautifully and for so much longer because we were all having such a great time, and John, you were the best host. I can't wait to do this one again!

Bring a Friend Mix 'n Mingle at On The Terrace in Claremont

This was such a fabulous P&F evening out. We had close to 100 members and their friends come along to meet new members and friends and catch up with older members and this is what Partners & Friends is all about. Such a good time was enjoyed chatting, mixing and mingling with so many wonderful people. It is quite amazing who you meet at our P&F events.

On The Terrace is one of our favourite venues for ambience, music and getting together to do what we do best - having a fun night out and sometimes meeting someone special. This happens so often at P&F events and that is why we need new members to come and join us all the time because we keep losing members who start dating!

A great thing about Partners & Friends is we always have such diverse and interesting events planned and there is always something on for our members to do every weekend, especially when you are single and want to hang out with other singles ... and who knows what may happen then!

Mullaloo Beach Hotel Dinner & Entertainment Evening

Tonight we met in the Ocean Bar at The Mullaloo Beach Hotel for pre-dinner drinks and some mix 'n mingle time. New members mixed with old members and everyone was happy, chatting and embracing a great time on a Saturday night out. After our drinks we went to the fabulous restaurant for a scrumptious 3 course dinner. We had to wait awhile but when it arrived all three courses were delicious. Garlic prawns and bruschetta were followed by huge and appertising portions of pork ribs, fish and the most amazing surf & turf you have seen. In fact I wish I ordered that! Our taste buds were even more tantalised when the profiteroles arrived for dessert. So yummy and filling was our whole meal it was awesome.

After our satisfying restaurant experience it was time to go back the the bar to enjoy the third part of our evening. Lush was playing the best music to dance to, what a great band and it was so good to let our hair down and feel the verve and energy of the dance floor with friends. If you haven't been to The Mullaloo Beach Hotel either for dinner or on a Saturday evening you are really missing a great night out. Another superb northern suburbs venue that provides top food, service and atmosphere.

Pink Floyd at the Concert Hall by Beyond the Darkside

Wow! What a night out this was! The last time Pink Floyd was in Perth was in 1988, so Beyond the Darkside was the closest we could get to hearing the famous Pink Floyd harmonics and lyrics. They played Floyd so close to the real thing it was mesmerising. All the classics were played tonight, from Shine on You Crazy Diamond, The Wall, Wish You Were Here, Money, Comfortably Numb and so many others. The special effects and laser light show added to our Pink Floyd experience, with even the pig making an appearance.

We had excellent seats and the sound at the Concert Hall was awesome. Afterwards we met the band and heard all about their experiences travelling around the world covering Pink Floyd. Did you know that Pink Floyd are the most covered band in the world?

It was also such fun to go with a crowd of P&F members. Meeting for drinks and canapes at the Hula Bula Bar before the show added to our great night out. The best cocktails in town are served here and the African/Island inspired theme is really interesting.

Ocean One Bar Drinks & Thai Banquet

What an amazing evening this was. A great crowd came along for drinks at Ocean One Bar, where we mixed and mingled and P&F people were so welcoming of our newest members. Such great conversations and such wonderful guests make it so easy for new members.

We had such a fabulous time at Ocean One we reluctantly left and went just upstairs for a delicious and sumptuous Asian Banquet at Thai Palace. Our 2 course banquet started with some tasty mixed platters of starters with those distinct fresh and exquisite flavours of Asia. This was followed by a selection of many dishes for our mains, including a delightful prawn curry, tasty beef and chicken dishes, yummy vegetables and all accompanied by noodles and rice. It really was a delicious dinner with plenty of Asian flavours to savour and great service.

After dinner some of us went for coffee at The Dome and others went back to Ocean One, either way we finished off another great P&F evening out together in style. Great nights out, great new friendships and relationships start from P&F, and tonight all of these things happened!

Champagne Breakfast at Jettys Restaurant

A big P & F crowd came along on this sultry Sunday morning to enjoy a delicious smorgasbord breakfast at Jettys on the water at Hillarys Boat Harbour. Such a superb range of breakfast delights was on offer - from cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurt and pancakes to the full hot breakfast of crispy bacon, eggs anyway you want, crunchy hash browns, mushrooms and anything else breakfasty you can think of to fill up a Sunday breakfast plate. Champagne somehow goes really well with breakfast and this morning was no exception - it was divine!

This was a lovely way to start our day, with great food, a great location overlooking the harbour with its boats and sparkling water, and lots of our members meeting for the first time in a casual and friendly manner. What a way to start your day!

Hummer Limo Ride, Wine Tasting & Dinner at Chesters in Henley Brook

This was a night to remember! The Hummer picked us up from AQWA at Hillarys and took us for a magnificent cruise down West Coast Drive. As we sipped on chilled champagne, listened to music and engaged in lively conversation, we witnessed the spectacular sun setting over the ocean, it was a magic moment.

We arrived at Chesters and met the rest of the P&F crowd for wine tasting - the reds and whites were both fine wines, and the semillon was delicious. Next stop was the magnificent Chesters Restaurant. No wonder it has won so many awards - the food, service and ambience were all perfect. The menu was superb and gave us a great selection to please our palates.

We farewelled the P&F members who met us at Chesters and it was back in the limo for us to Hillarys and final drinks at The Breakwater. This was a superb night and one we will definitely do again. If you missed the Hummer and Chesters night this time around, come next time and experience a fab P&F night out.

Barbeque Dinner and Games Night in Gwelup

This was such a fun night out with friends new and old. A delicious barbeque dinner with fresh home made salads served in a delightful tropical garden setting was just what was needed for a relaxing, casual Saturday evening with other singles. With some terrific music filling the balmy night, great lighting, a Balinese themed pergola and good company, this was another excellent P & F night out. Later, as the crowd drifted away, out came the cards and the night continued on for some ...

Now who would want to sit at home in front of the television on a Saturday evening when there are so many like minded singles to meet and things to do every weekend?

Party at the Indi Bar - Scarborough's Famous Live Music Venue

Wow! The Indi Bar goes off on a Friday night!. We had the perfect spot reserved for us with full view of the 3 bands on tonight and access to the bar and the Indi's relaxing alfresco area by the pool, where a lot of members chilled out. There was a big crowd at the Indi, not only of P&F members but also we could mix 'n mingle with lots of other people out this evening.

The 3 bands were fabulous and played some easy listening and original music with cool lyrics. The main band,The Siren Tower, was worth waiting for - excellent music, great lyrics and oozing energy. I think we will be hearing more from them.

The food was amazing, with fresh oysters, prawns, smoked salmon, chicken and lots of other delicious treats. Members who came out tonight were pretty impressed with the style and ambience of this awesome live music venue. I can't wait to go back, and the Indi will definitely be back on the P&F calendar of events.

Karaoke at Dreamland

Wow! It was amazing to find out how many P&F members are actually amazing singers. Ali was brave enough to take the lead and start the singing and at first her performance of Sinead O'Connor's, Nothing Compares to You, made me think there was a sound track playing, but there wasn't! Her Bobby McGee performance later was the same, I could have sworn Janis Joplin was back.
All other members who came along were just as good, and as the night went on more and more P&F members showed how well they can sing. We should have Partners & Friends Idol instead of Australian Idol. It was such a fun night made that way by all the members who came out to sing and dance to some terrific tunes. I was going to sing too, but unfortunately my song never came up. Oh well, it will have to be next time for me ...
Thanks guys for coming out with such a positive attitude and singing all those amazing lyrics, it was so wonderful hearing everyone sing so many famous and legendary songs.

Morning Beach Walk and Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Juices at Voyage Kitchen in Sorrento

This morning was perfect weather to enjoy a stroll along the beach. We walked along the water's edge on the way down the coast and took the foot path for a brisk walk on the way back. It was so pleasant and a lovely way to get to know each other in a casual and laid back way.

We also kick started our day with a refreshing and healthy walk, delicious freshly squeezed fresh fruit and vegetable juices and some yummy muffins. Voyage Kitchen and Delicatessen offers the most amazing range of made on the premises gourmet cuisine and we must come back here for breakfast or lunch soon. Our casual beach walk was a wonderful way to start our Sunday. I shall see you in a fortnight for our next beach walk, and who knows, we might even break into a jog ...

Pre-dinner Drinks and Delicious Dinner at Fratellis in Sorrento

A delicious dinner with a fabulous turn out of P&F members made for a terrific night out on Saturday. For those who arrived early, we got to sip chilled champagne and see the stunning setting sun over the ocean from the elevated position of Fratellis, it was a really beautiful sight.

Our 3 course dinner was complemented with some champagne to start with, followed by some stylish Spanish and Australian red and white wines. Coffee and delectable desserts finished our night off, and once again we were the last to leave! The great cuisine and friendly staff made our night even more memorable.
